Last week I had the pleasure of attending a ‘Scented Inspiration for Brides’ event and no, I don’t have anything to share - haha - it was just a nice wee soiree for brides….. and me. It’s no secret my love for Jo Malone products, I do sometimes think that Jo Malone gets far too much attention from me, but everything is just so covetable and gorgeous.
Fragrance can be the most personal expression of your individuality, so it makes perfect sense to have a consultation, to consider how you would like to smell on the most important day of your life.
Jo Malone offers a consultation with one of their wedding stylists, who will tailor your wedding fragrance by assessing your likes and preferences. Whether it’s ‘Fragrance Combining’ of their scents, to create something a little more unique,or discussing how to layer fragrances such as bath oil, lotion, then perfume; or perhaps to use scented candles to add a subtle fragrance to your ceremony. Jo Malone can advise and inspire on all things scented. They also offer an engraving service on their cologne bottles, bath oil bottles and candles – the perfect gift for the bridal party.
It was reported that Kate requested her favourite scented Jo Malone candles and toiletries be delivered to scent the Abbey. A selection of candles, hand washes and lotions was requested, specifically in citrus spring scents including Orange Blossom, Grapefruit and the ever-popular Lime, Basil & Mandarin. These were for use inside the Abbey, and for wedding guests using the royal bathroom and additional six VIP bathrooms. This reiterates the power and relevance of fragrance.
And what better time to unveil their new spring summer collection ‘ Blue Skies & Blossoms’ – a collection of the brand’s most popular blossom scents.
Created by three different Master Perfumers, chosen by the Jo Malone London Creative Studio, each fragrance encapsulates the playful and carefree feeling of spring. Blue Skies & Blossoms includes Sakura Cherry Blossom, Plum Blossom and Osmanthus Blossom, beautifully presented with pink, purple and green metallic lids and matching striped bows. Now, I’m an absolute die-hard ‘Lime, Basil and Mandarin’ girl, but the gorgeous Emma layered LB&M, with this seasons ‘Osmanthus Blossom’, and it was fabulous. Makes you want to sit with a picnic in a field, drinking Pimm’s.
Up at the tasting bar, the brides were being treated to a luxurious hand and arm massage; whilst mothers, sisters and friends all chatted and mingled, as the girls from Jo Malone served rose champagne, strawberry popcorn, lime basil & mandarin chocolates (I kid you not – my absolute ‘favourite’ fragrance combination in a chocolate?). And, as if all this weren’t enough, the amazingly creative Floral Earth provided all the guests with the prettiest little spring corsage - I still have it on my desk today.
Thanks for the invite Ciara, I had a lovely evening (as always).
